MUSEU DE L'ESPARDENYA

In another building located in the park we have the “Museu de l’Espardenya” (Espadrille museum). It houses a permanent exhibition which presents a craft already disappeared in this town and which was the predecessor of the main economic activity currently in Banyeres: textile industry.

The fund of the museum has been formed with the invaluable cooperation of individuals and entities who have given selflessly objects.

As regards the structure, the tour starts on the ground floor with the viewing of a documentary, where Banyeres seniors, who worked in this sector, show to us as espadrilles were made. Through display panels shows the raw materials, which were used to made espadrilles.
